The initial focus of this Blog when I first began writing it, was on the Telecom industry and how Web 2.0 technologies were changing the nature of this industry.   That was back in 2006.    Well, as usual, we underestimated the time changes require.

Alec Saunders penned a piece today on the changing face of Telecom and the potential impact of Telepresence ‘like’ applications / tools that incorporate much higher bandwidth capabiliites and resolution.

I remember first using Telepresence tools almost 20 years ago based on PicTel products (now part of Polycom).   It involved grainy pictures with irritating latency, but that was 20 years ago for goodness sake.    Who would have guessed that with all the technology advances and investment into internet technologies. it would have taken this long to get Telepresence ready for prime time?!
